The L&D's Fundraising Appeal for the Neo-Natal Intensive Care Unit has now raised well over £190,000 through events such as the recent ‘Backbeat Beatles' show at Harpenden Public Halls.

Following a highly successful day collecting for the charity in the streets of Harpenden, the L&D team joined over 250 people in the Public Halls to dance the night away to the Beatles Tribute band - the Backbeat Beatles.

They were joined by the superb Tom Jones tribute performer, Billy Lee.

Both acts were absolutely superb and the audience were very soon on their feet dancing and screaming in true Beatles-style!!

Everyone had a great time and continued to support the NICU Appeal by generously participating in a very special raffle.

We anticipate that over £1,500 was raised during the day and night - moving the overall target to almost £200,000 raised for this very worthwhile appeal.

Backbeat Beetles Charity Concert~ 6th Feb 2010
The fabulous Backbeat Beetles will be performing at the Harpenden Public Hall. Billy Lee, Europe's top Tom Jones tribute artist, will be supporting. Doors open at 7.30pm but there are limited tickets so get yours today!

Volunteers needed

We would be delighted if you decided to run for us and will support you as much as you want! We have sponsorship forms and information about setting up your own online sponsorship pafe and will even give you your own specialist running vest or t-shirt!

Unlike taking a charity place for the marathon there is no pressure to raise a certain amount of money... we are happy with whatever you are able to raise!

Grand Christmas Charity Concert on Saturday 19th December Vauxhall Male Voice Choir, Luton Concert Orchestra & Luton Youth Cantores present this fantastic concert at St Mary's Church in Dunstable. A Mother’s Dimension Charity Dinner Join us at Halfway House, Dunstable on Sunday 29th November at 7.00pm for a special dinner to celebrate the NICU Appeal. Event organisers Cathy and Valerie know all to well the struggles and fears of having a baby in NICU and they have joined together to fundraise for the Appeal to say thank you for the care their sons received. Wow... What a night! L&D 70th Anniversary Charity Gala Dinner The L&Ds first ever Charity Gala Dinner was a real success and raised over £11,000 for the NICU Appeal. There were nearly 200 people at the Luton Hoo celebrating and the evening was jam packed full of entertainment, beautiful dresses, fabulous food and the best surprise act ever! Read More

45 budding golfers took to the course on Friday 23rd October as part of the L&D's first ever Charity Golf Day.

The magnificent course, designed by renowned golf architects of the 1930's Messrs Hawtree and Taylor, did not disappoint and the round of golf was followed by dinner, a raffle, an auction and a presentation by a NICU mum.
