Outpatient and Community Services

Respiratory Outpatients: The Respiratory Physiotherapy Service offers a specialist service to assess and treat adults with respiratory illnesses and aims to help them self-manage their chronic respiratory disease.

Neurology Outpatients: The Neurology Physiotherapy service offers a specialist service to assess and treat adults with a wide range of neurological conditions including vestibular disorders aiming to help with rehabilitation and self-management.

Musculoskeletal Outpatients: The musculoskeletal outpatient service offers a specialist service to assess and treat adults with musculoskeletal complaints including chronic and acute injuries as well as sporting injuries.

Paediatric Physiotherapy: The Paediatric Physiotherapy service offers a specialist service to assess and treat children with a wide range of conditions including musculoskeletal, following orthopaedic surgery, neonatal- prematurity and respiratory including complex asthma and hyperventilation.

Community Paediatric Physiotherapy: The Community Paediatric Physiotherapy are based at Redgrave Gardens Children’s centre as well as several special schools within Luton. The team offer a specialist service to assess and treat children from 0-18 with complex needs such as cerebral palsy and muscle wasting disorders.

Multiple Sclerosis Service: The Multiple Sclerosis Therapy offers a specialist multidisciplinary service to help people with MS to manage their symptoms and condition effectively through individual and group sessions.

Pulmonary Rehabilitation: The Pulmonary Rehabilitation team offers a specialist service to those with long term respiratory conditions (such as COPD and Bronchiectasis). They aim to help improve exercise tolerance and provide education around topics such as pacing.

Cardiac Rehabilitation: The Cardiac Rehabilitation Team offers a specialist multidisciplinary service for those following acute cardiac events and aims to help improve exercise tolerance and raise awareness of issues such as diet.

Limb Fitting Service: The limb fitting service offers a specialist service to those following amputation including assessing for prosthesis and rehabilitation.

Accessing the service: Patients are referred to the outpatient services listed by their GP, consultant or other healthcare professional depending on the team’s referral criteria.
