5 December 2016
Come and meet our hospital social workers on Hospital Social Work Day – Wednesday 7 December, a celebration of the exceptional work, practice and passion of hospital social workers.
The team from Central Bedfordshire Council (CBC) will have an information stall in the hospital restaurant from 11.30 to 2.30pm. If you are a member of the public, or staff, why not pop along and learn more about what the team do and how they work together with our own staff to safely discharge patients back into the community.
Carers in Bedfordshire, who opened their Carers Lounge in St Mary’s Wing earlier in the year, will also be there to provide advice and information.
The aim of the day is to raise awareness amongst patients, their families and staff at the hospital about the work carried out by hospital social workers and, in particular, the focus will be on staff employed by CBC.
Co-located within the hospital and working alongside colleagues from Luton and Hertfordshire councils as well as staff from the Hospital’s Integrated Discharge Planning team, the CBC Hospital Social work team focuses on the safe discharge of patients who require social care support to enable them to return to their homes.
Please come and join us for this event!
