Local people are invited to the Christmas Tree lights switch on at the Luton and Dunstable University Hospital (L&D) on Thursday 1 December at 6pm.
The lights will be switched on by some of the young patients on our children’s ward. Other special guests include the Mayors of Luton, Dunstable and Houghton Regis – Councillors Tahir Khan, Peter Hollick and Chris Slough – and Flamstead Brownies.
Hadrian Academy Choir, and Luton and Dunstable Hospital Radio will provide music, and there will be light refreshments.
Hospital Chairman, Simon Linnett, said: “We are really looking forward to welcoming the local community to our Christmas Tree lights switch-on celebrations. Last year more than 100 people attended and there was a lovely atmosphere, packed with festive spirit.
“Each light on the tree is sponsored by someone – by patients, their families, staff and supporters – either in memory or as a gift for loved ones. All the funds raised from this enable us to run accommodation for parents to stay close to their babies on the L&D’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.”
