If you have Rheumatoid Arthritis – or any form of inflammatory arthritis, you are invited to our patient information event about medication on 12 September 2013.
The information event takes place at the L&D Social Club Hall, Calnwood Rd, Luton LU4 0DZ on 12 September from 6pm – 8pm. Anyone with Rheumatoid / Inflammatory Arthritis is welcome – you do not need to book, just turn up.
At the event, specialist staff will give short presentations about different types of medication treatment that we offer and reassure patients who have concerns or questions. A hospital pharmacist will talk about Methotrexate, the “gold standard” treatment for inflammatory arthritis, and you will also hear about Biologic Therapy. Rheumatology staff will be available to talk to if you have any questions and there will be a range of information stands as well as refreshments.
Rheumatoid Arthritis in its various forms affects many people who suffer painful debilitating episodes of this chronic condition, but effective specialist treatment can bring about a dramatic improvement.
The Rheumatology team at the L&D looks after over 3,000 people in the Luton area who have some form of Rheumatoid or Inflammatory Arthritis and aims to get patients on to appropriate medication treatment quickly in order to achieve clinical remission from painful symptoms of their disease.
