Get advice and support from our new Health Information Point

A new Health Information Point has opened at the L&D in the reception area of the St Mary’s Wing. The aim is to give patients, carers and relatives easy access to a wide range of information and advice about different health or support issues.

While it is mainly focussed on elderly care, some of the services at the Health Information Point are relevant to all age groups – such as the Disability Resource Centre, Alcohol Support, Stop Smoking Service, Headway – (which supports those with head or brain injury), and Carer Support.

Staff from different L&D services as well as outside several external organisations are represented at the Health Information Point and provide face-to-face morning or afternoon sessions of advice for customers. There is also a range of advisory leaflets and information to take away.

The Health Information Point is open Monday to Friday from 9am – 4pm

Sessions are also supported by the Alzheimers Society, and hospital departments including the Stroke team, Stroke Research Department, Falls Service and Cardiology.
