New patient transport service in Leighton Buzzard

Monday 3 April, marked the launch of our new volunteer transport service for patients from Leighton Buzzard who might need help getting to the L&D for their appointments.

The service, run by volunteers, is provided by a charity, Leighton Buzzard Volunteer Patient Transport (LBVPT), and is designed to support predominately elderly patients who might find it difficult to get to the hospital.

Today volunteer driver Andreas Demopoulos bought Mrs Phyllis Savage to the L&D for an appointment – our first patient to use the new service.

If you live in Leighton Buzzard and are interested in volunteering for LBVT please email or telephone 07873 497 633, or visit their website, for more information.
