Volunteers’ Week

Volunteers’ Week took place this year 1-7 June and is an annual celebration of the fantastic contribution millions of volunteers make across the UK.

The L&D is privileged to have approximately 300 volunteers working in different areas around the hospital. These volunteers are a dedicated team of people, who in a number of varying roles gave us 25000 hours last year alone. We would like to say a huge thank you to our volunteers!

Our volunteers all have differing life skills, which positively contributes to the patients/visitors experience. The recent NHS Five Year Forward View for the NHS ( Nov 2014) paid tribute to the contribution that volunteers make across the NHS and recognises the clear need for more volunteer support.
If you would like to join us as a volunteer, please contact the Voluntary Services Department on 01582 497357/497384, by email or via our dedicated page – it is a truly rewarding experience.
