21 November 2016
Our pharmacy team were busy spreading the important message about the problems of antibiotic resistance during World Antibiotic Awareness Week 14th-20th November 2016.
They set up an information stand in the hospital restaurant at lunchtime last week (14-18 November), and chatted to staff, students and members of the public, 65 of whom signed up to be an Antibiotic Guardian.
Antibiotic resistance is one of the biggest threats facing us today. Without effective antibiotics many routine treatments will become increasingly dangerous. Setting broken bones, basic operations, even chemotherapy and animal health all rely on access to antibiotics that work.
To slow resistance we need to cut the unnecessary use of antibiotics so why not find out how you can help by becoming an Antibiotic Guardian.
